Identifying Your Construction Software Champion

It isn’t difficult to spot the software champion on your team. They are gung ho when it comes to implementing new software programs. They enjoy the challenge of discovering the features and benefits of the construction software that your company already uses. You may find them looking for shortcuts and customization options for the programs that they use, and participating enthusiastically in software discussions and training opportunities. Typically, he or she will exhibit qualities that include patience, autonomy, persistence, listening skills, and open mindedness.  They will also be very technical savvy.

If you can harness the enthusiasm of your software champion, the result can be even greater efficiency in the way that your staff utilizes the management products you have chosen. He or she can become an expert on the software, from an end user perspective. The input that they will provide can be a  valuable asset as they can determine how the software can best benefit your company.

Put Your Software Champion To Work

Once you have identified someone that you feel has the potential to serve as your staff’s software champion, work to cultivate strong bi-directional communication that will allow them to confidently share their feedback with you, and speak with them about the best ways to communicate their knowledge of the software with others.

The software that you choose is only as beneficial as the staff operating it, and a software champion can go a long way in helping your staff use the product most effectively. Ideally, their positive attitude and willingness will be infectious among the staff, and enthusiasm for your construction management software will build easily.
